Corruption is signature tune of UPA-II: BJP meet

Guhawati, Jan 9: The first day of Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) National Executive Committee Meet witnessed a fierce attack over the corruption charges of Congress. Most of the leaders, who spoke on different sessions, attacked Central government for the corruption allegations in 2G spectrum and Commonwealth Games.

BJP chief Nitin Gadkari indirectly attacked Congress President Sonia Gandhi and General Secretary Rahul Gandhi saying that the five-point action plan against corruption announced by Gandhi during the Congress plenary was an eyewash.

"Sermons, declaration of multi-point programmes and empty appeals to political functionaries who are your own appointees will make no impact," Nitin Gadkari said his written address to the meet.

BJP General Secretary Ravi Shankar Prasad said that people under UPA-II are suffering from price rise and corruption galore. He added that corruption has become the signature tune of the UPA government.

The two-day National Executive Committee Meet will end on Sunday, Jan 9.
