Reliance executive set on fire in Delhi
The incident happened on the New Year's Day when the victim, Vaibhav Mishra, aged 28, who was working as the Territorial Manager with Reliance Communications got into a tiff with his girlfriend's brother who did not approve of the relationship.
"Mishra was having an affair with sister of one Surender. The brother did not like the relationship. Surender came to know that Mishra has come to attend a party in Dakshinpuri. With the help of friends with whom he was partying, he murdered Mishra," revealed O P Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East).
The five accused were in the age group of 19-24. Mishra hailed from Baroli district in UP. His charred body was found near Dakshinpuri on Jan 1st. The police found out that Mishra attended a party at 11.45 pm and left the place after 45 minutes.
"Surender had seen Mishra coming to A-block Dakshinpuri. Then he hatched a conspiracy with his friends to murder Mishra as he had seen him roaming with his sister earlier. As soon as Mishra reached near Auto Market in Dakshinpuri, Surender and others stopped him and overpowered him. In a secluded area, they all beat him up. After this, the accused poured petrol on Mishra and set him and the motorcycle on fire," the official investigating the case said.
The persons who were arrested are Surender (the brother of Mishra's girlfriend), Rajiv, Anand Prakash, Anil and Rahul.
