Oz flood hard hits Rockhampton city; many killed

Seasonal flood complicated the situation in Australia after a weeks of heavy rain. Thousands of people evacuated and three people were killed across Queensland till Monday, in the massive water-shed, according to authorities.
The water levels has overwhelmed in parts of Rockhampton city and threatening to wash over a highway north of the city of 75,000 people. The city's regional airport closed on Saturday, Jan 1. Military aircraft's are flying supplies into the Rockhampton city.
"Water levels were expected to crest at 9.4 meters in Rockhampton on Wednesday," CNN meteorologist Ivan Cabrera said.
By stacking sand bags the residence of Rockhampton, were prepared to face the flood, that is expected to continue.
