Chandigarh cops begin road safety- A 'Mission'

Chandigarh, Jan 2: Chandigarh police inaugurated the 22nd Road Safety Week on Sunday, Jan 2. The Chandigarh police celebrates the Road Safety Program every year. The prime intention of the program is to create road sense, that helps people to keep them safe on roads. This was began with the theme "road safety a mission not intermission."

As a part of the celebration the Chandigarh police also organized the blood donation camps and painting competition for school children. Police have planned number of programs through out the week, with a vow to educate the public about the culture of road safety. The Road Safety Week will be celebrated till Jan 7.

The week programs also includes, seven days road safety exhibition at Piazza Sector 17, regular showing of road safety movies, scooter rally of girl students to promote wearing of helmets, penal discussion on road safety at All India Radio.

Not that all, first aid workshop for police personnel, road safety seminar of traffic marshals and residents welfare associations, Punjab and Haryana roadways drivers with free medical eye check up camp, driving training workshop for school bus drivers.
