Bangalore, Dec 31 (ANI): In an attempt to bury the hatchet over differences regarding corruption issues in the state, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa met Governor HR Bhardwaj here at Raj Bhavan today.

Talking to reporters after meeting, Yeddyurappa said he would meet Bhardwaj once in 15 days as he stressed there should not be any room for rift or disagreement.

"There should not be any rift with the Governor, neither any room for disagreement. As a Governor, he has freedom to offer suggestions", he added.

The meeting comes in the backdrop of friction between the Governor and the state government.

Earlier, Yeddyurappa said he would be writing a letter to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil to clarify whether any dictum has been issued to the Governors of various states to monitor the various ministers, assess their performance and given a free hand to interfere in the normal functioning of a duly elected government.

"I am writing a letter to the President of India that the Karnataka Governor is interfering too much into the state affairs," Yeddyurappa told reporters.

In an escalating war of words with the ruling BJP, Bhardwaj has said he has a list of corrupt people in the state and offered to furnish it to those interested.

The BJP had accused the Governor of behaving like an opposition leader and a Congress agent. (ANI)
