Melbourne, Dec 23 (ANI): A woman in Australia, who has been jailed for stabbing her boyfriend several times, has appealed for bail to the Toowoomba Magistrates Court citing a burst breast implant as reason.

Leanne Maree Rogers, 46, made an appearance at the court charged with unlawful wounding, acts intended to maim (causing grievous bodily harm) and common assault, the Courier Mail reported.

Rogers had used a knife to stab her boyfriend five times in the chest and neck on October 10.

Magistrate Damian Carroll noted the injuries sustained by the victim, included a slash to his neck measuring 10cm by 5cm, a slash from his chest to his sternum measuring 15cm, and three other stab wounds to his chest.

Carroll said Rogers also waved the knife towards a female witness, which resulted in the common assault charge.

Defence solicitor Caitlyn Natalier said her client suffered from a number of medical issues which were not being properly addressed in prison as she had been in custody since she was arrested on October 10.

Natalier said one of Rogers' breast implants had burst, which was causing her pain and discomfort, and that, it needed to be removed by a plastic surgeon. (ANI)
