Tomato
New Delhi, Dec 23: People in the capital now has to pay more for tomato. Yet another basic commodity, tomato, seems to skyrocket in terms of price. Currently, a kilo of tomato costs Rs 45-55, prices has shoot up in cities by Rs 10-15.

The tomato prices have soared in Delhi due to supply crunch and export of the commodity to Pakistan.

“Exporting vegetables in large-scale to Pakistan to earn a good-sum money, is also a significant reason for this fall in supply in domestic markets of Delhi," President, tomato traders association, Darshan Lal Arora said.
