Sibal meets Sunil Mittal, Anil Ambani on telecom sector concerns
New Delhi, Dec 21 (ANI): Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Kapil Sibal on Tuesday met Bharti Airtel's Sunil Mittal and Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group (ADAG) chairman Anil Ambani to discuss issues and ways to ensure that the growth of the telecom sector is not derailed.
Sibal is reportedly meeting CEOs and promoters of leading telecom service providers over the next three days to seek their opinions on what went wrong in the past, as well as their vision for the sector. He is expected to meet Tata group chairman Ratan Tata on Wednesday.
The issues that are supposed to figure during the meetings include cancellation of permits to telecom companies for failing to roll out services, excess spectrum holdings by GSM telecom companies and policy flip-flops in awarding dual technology licenses. (ANI)
