Mahindra launches Thar 4x4 in India

Mumbai, Dec 21: Mahindra & Mahindra, one of the largest car makers in India, launched its brand new version of sports car, Mahindra Thar 4X4 on Tuesday, Dec 21. The Thar 4X4, a jeep-look-alike, has been launched in Rajasthan and Kerala initially.

The Mahindra Thar 4X4 has already been launched in Europe and South Africa and ran a good business. They (Mahindra) received a good response from international market, for this segment sporting a 2500cc turbo diesel engine.

The Thar of this model is designed to deliver a high peak power of 107 Kw at 3800 rpm in combination with a top torque of 247 Nm at 1800 rpm.

The Thar 4X4 has priced between Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. This car is specially designed for off-road driving.

The features like, leaf-spring suspension at the rear with double-action shock absorbers, light weight and high traction 6Jx16 wheels, with 2-speed gear-reduction make sure the pleasure of journey on the off-road driving.
