TDP leader's condition worsens; Hyd volatile

Chandrababu Naidu
Hyderabad, Dec 20: The Telugu Desam President N Chandrababu Naidu seems in no mood to relent popular demand to end his fast. His health condition has turned for the worse as fasting progressed to the fourth consecutive day. He has been protesting against the inadequate compensation for farmers who faced a huge loss due to heavy rain in the state.

He was forcibly hospitalised as he refused medicines and has been surviving on just water for the last couple of days. He is admitted to the Nizam"s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS). Many TDP supporters tried to resist police advances of the arrest. There was a sizable crowd of supporters who prevented police officials from entering the area.

Naidu appeared steadfast in his resolve to go ahead with the fasting inspite of his failing health. The TDP had called for a state bandh against the arrest. There was violence and cases of destruction of public property.

N Lokesh Naidu, son of Chandrababu Naidu and other supporters suffered minor injuries in the melee.
