BSP worker assaulted; Raja Bhaiya, SP MLAs held

Allahabad, Dec 20: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supporter Manoj Shukla has been attempted to kidnap and murder. Allahabad Police on Dec 19 arrested Samajwadi Party MP and MLAs and mafia-turned-politician and independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya for the alleged crime.

"An FIR has been lodged naming 13 people. Among them, 11 have been arrested so far," informed Pratapgarh SP OP Sagar.

The victim Manoj Shukla is fighting for the block pramukh post election which would be held on Wednesday, Dec 22.

According the sources, when Manoj and his supporters tried to take shelter inside a local police station, the accused MLA's goons allegedly assaulted them outside the police station.

Manoj in his FIR also claimed that the accused fired several rounds in the air to disperse those who tried to help Manoj.
