PC wanted Headley access for namesake:Wikileaks

P Chidambaram
New Delhi, Dec 18: Whistleblower WikiLeaks continues to stir trouble worldwide and just about nobody escapes its wrath. After showing its claws on Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, its turned its guns on Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in the latest set of revealations.

According to the wikileaks cables, Chidambaram, in early 2010, discussed with the then Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director Robert Mueller about his suspicion that the suspected mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, David Coleman Headley had not acted alone.

"I have a feeling in my bones that Headley was not acting alone," stated Chidambaram while in a discussion with US officials, claimed a US embassy cable, who gave out Chidambaram's statement in the site.

The leaks also claimed that though the Government of India was happy with US' co-operation with India in handling the case of Headley, Chidambaram stressed for direct access to Headley. The cables also suggested that Chidambaram wanted access to Headley just for "appearance sake".
