Mac devices to get exclusive App Store on Jan 6

San Francisco, Dec 17: We all use App Store to get the latest applications for our iOS devices. But, most of the times it's very difficult to find out the right application from the enormous collection. And it makes a hell when we want to find out any application for Mac devices. The iPhone maker Apple realized user's dilemma and decided to roll out an exclusive App Store for Mac devices.

Apple has announced that it will launch Mac App Store on Jan 6, 2011. The Mac App Store will be a replica of Apple Store where users can easily identify and purchase applications for their computers.

Similar to the App Store, Mac store will also allow users to browse apps by downloads, staff favorites or what's hot. Users can also view reviews and ratings about the applications.

Apple said that Mac App Store will be available in 90 countries. The paid and free applications would be available under six categories namely, Education, Games, Graphics & Design, Lifestyle, Productivity, and Utilities.

"The App Store revolutionized mobile apps. We hope to do the same for PC apps with the Mac App Store by making finding and buying PC apps easy and fun. We can't wait to get started on Jan 6," Apple CEO Steve Jobs said.
