Market closes on strong note;Nifty 5948 level

Mumbai, Dec 16: Market closed on a strong note. Sensex and Nifty kept their uptrend at closing. Sensex was 1.01 percent up and Nifty was 0.96 percent up. Shares remained unchanged.

At 4.00 hrs, BSE Sensex was 19864.85 up 217.08 points and NSE Nifty was 5948.75 up 56.45 points.

The most active in trading were SBI, Infosys, Jaiprakash Asso and Hero Honda.

The top gainers were Kotak Mahindra up 3.48 percent, Hero Honda up 4.06 percent, Suzlon Energy up 4.98 percent and SAIL up 5.60 percent.

The top losers were Mah and Mah down 2.65 percent, Tata Power down 1.48 percent, Sesa Goa down 1.87 percent and HUL down 1.59 percent.

Sensex keeps uptrend-100 points up
The Sensex maintained the uptrend that held at 19748.66 mark with 100.89 points up and Nifty also raised 35 points up and held at 5927.30 level.

At 3.00 hrs, BSE Sensex was 19826.60 up 178.83 points and NSE Nifty was 5943.45 up 51.15 points.

The most active in trading were SBI, Infosys, Jaiprakash Asso and Hero Honda.

The top gainers were Kotak Mahindra up 3.48 percent, Hero Honda up 4.06 percent, Suzlon Energy up 4.98 percent and SAIL up 5.60 percent.

The top losers were Mah and Mah down 2.60 percent, Maruti Suzuki down 1.08 percent, Sesa Goa down 1.87 percent and HUL down 1.22 percent.
