Stockholm, Dec 14 (ANI): The wife of Taymour al-Abdaly, the Iraqi suicide bomber who blew himself up on a Stockholm street full of holiday shoppers, has said she knew nothing about her husband's intentions.

According to the Daily Mail, on being asked about whether or not she was aware of the Stockholm plot, Mona Thwany said "of course not".

"I really don't want to talk right now. I am very devastated and upset," she added.

Al-Abdaly had reportedly spent much of the last decade in Luton, known as a hotbed of terrorism, where he studied for a degree and continued living there with his wife and three young children.

The paper quoted sources at the Luton Islamic Centre as saying that the 28-year-old terrorist's views were viewed to be so extreme that he was asked to leave after he began giving sermons three years ago.

Yesterday, media reports had claimed that al-Abdaly had sent an email before his attack telling his wife to kiss their two toddler daughters, saying: "Tell them that Daddy loves them."

However, he had contrasting feelings about others in Sweden, as he was heard saying "Now your children, daughters and sisters shall die like our brothers and sisters and children are dying," while slamming the Swedes for sending 500 soldiers to Afghanistan. (ANI)
