Mysore: Tempo falls into lake; 28 killed

Some locals reported that brake fail may be the reason for the tragic incident.

The death toll in Mysore tempo mishap has reached 13. Police had confirmed the death of 13 people and the sources reported that toll may rise as some of the victims are still trapped under the water.

Three people were killed and more than 15 people were missing when a tempo van overloaded with 25 people fell into a lake in Karnataka.
The tragic incident happened near to Mysore airport on Tuesday, Dec 14. Police said that accident took place around 5.00 pm in Mandakalli Village on Mysore-Nanjanagudu road. The overcrowded tempo van fell into the Dalavayikere Lake.
Rescue operations are still going on. Sources said that the death toll may increase as many people are trapped under water. Rescue operators and locals are trying hard to save the lives. The injured were admitted to KR Hospital in Mysore.
