The top losers were Hero Honda down 3.45 percent, Mah and Mah down 1.37 percent, Axis Bank down 1.31 percent and Jindal Steel down 1.49 percent.

At the opening Nifty was on a flat note but afternoon it was trading on a strong note. Nifty was gradually moving towards 5950 level.

Trading starts on flat note; Nifty hovers at 5900
Markets started trading on a flat note and the benchmark Nifty was hovering around 5900 level. The inflation data, which is expected to be out today, has weakened the trade on realty, auto and banks.
At 09.50 hrs, BSE Sensex was 19661.48 down 32.11 points and NSE Nifty was 5898.70 down 8.95 points.
