Market closes on +ve note

Mumbai, Dec 14: The Nifty closed on a positive note. It held 5944 level at closing and Sensex was 93.10 points up.

At 5.00 hrs, BSE Sensex was 19799.79 up 107.41 points and NSE Nifty was 5944.10 up 36.45 points.

The most active in trading were Tata Steel, Tata Motors, SBI and Reliance.

The top gainers were Sterlite Ind up 3.39 percent, Ranbaxy Labs up 2.90 percent, Tata Steel up 2.47 percent and Reliance Infra up 2.62 percent.

The top losers were Hero Honda down 3.45 percent, Mah and Mah down 1.37 percent, Axis Bank down 1.31 percent and Jindal Steel down 1.49 percent.

Nifty looming around 5950 level
The BSE Sensex was trading good in metal, oil & gas, and realty stocks. NSE Nifty was looming around 5950 level.

At 2045 hrs, BSE Sensex was 19780.11 up 88.33 points and NSE Nifty was 5929.55 up 21.90 points.

The most active in trading were Tata Steel, Tata Motors, SBI and Reliance.

The top gainers were Sterlite Ind up 3.12 percent, Tata Motors up 2.43 percent, Tata Steel up 2.39 percent and Cairn India up 2.10 percent.

The top losers were Hero Honda down 3.53 percent, Mah and Mah down 1.67 percent, Axis Bank down 1.97 percent and Jindal Steel down 1.59 percent.

Market moves 5950 level
At the opening Nifty was on a flat note but afternoon it was trading on a strong note. Nifty was gradually moving towards 5950 level.

At 12.55 hrs, BSE Sensex was 19715.24 up 23.46 points and NSE Nifty was 5914.80 up 7.15 points.

The most active in trading were Tata Steel, Tata Motors, SBI and Reliance.

The top gainers were Reliance Infra up 3.96 percent, HDFC up 3.76 percent, DLF up 3.26 percent and Siemens up 3.12 percent.

The top losers were Hero Honda down 3.49 percent, Mah and Mah down 1.31 percent, Axis Bank down 1.61 percent and Jindal Steel down 1.64 percent.

Trading starts on flat note; Nifty hovers at 5900
Markets started trading on a flat note and the benchmark Nifty was hovering around 5900 level. The inflation data, which is expected to be out today, has weakened the trade on realty, auto and banks.

At 09.50 hrs, BSE Sensex was 19661.48 down 32.11 points and NSE Nifty was 5898.70 down 8.95 points.

The most active in trading were Tata Steel, Tata Motors, SBI and Reliance.

The top gainers were Sterlite Ind up 1.97 percent, SAIL up 1.52 percent, Cipla up 1.04 percent and BPCL up 0.92 percent.

The top losers were Hero Honda down 2.20 percent, Mah and Mah down 1.22 percent, Axis Bank down 1.22 percent and Kotak Mahindra down 1.12 percent.
