BMW X1 to hit Indian market on Dec 23

BMW India, subsidiary of German based BMW, said that the new X1 will be available both in diesel and petrol models. The X1 attracts the car lovers with two basic models, X1 Corporate Edition and X1 Highline. The petrol version will have a 1.8L engine and the diesel version offers a 2.0L diesel engine.
BMW has decided to assemble the X1 at company"s Chennai plant following its import in India through CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit route. Also company plans to manufacture the X1 model in India itself.
The X1 will be BMW's cheapest car in India. Sources reported that X1 will cost around Rs 23 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai.
