Washington, Dec 9 (ANI): Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has claimed that Wikileaks supporters are behind the cyber attack of her website and credit card information.

Hackers associated with the group "Operation Payback", an organization comprised of individuals who support Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, have reportedly tried to shut down the SarahPAC Web site and infiltrate hers and her husband Todd Palin's personal credit card accounts.

Palin, 46, who has been critical of Assange on her Facebook page, calling him "an anti-American operative with blood on his hands", claimed in an email that the attack was because she had spoken out against him.

"No wonder others are keeping silent about Assange's antics," the Washington Post quoted her as writing in the email sent to Jake Tapper of ABC News.

"This is what happens when you exercise the First Amendment and speak against his sick, un-American espionage efforts.

"Why was he not pursued with the same urgency we pursue al Qaeda and Taliban leaders?" she went on to ask.

The post goes on to criticize the White House for not acting sooner to stop Assange from continuing to post classified documents. (ANI)
