Father in UK 'rapes teenage daughter for a child'

London, Dec 8 (ANI): A teenage girl in Britain has revealed that her father repeatedly raped her until she became pregnant to provide a child for him and his infertile partner.

The girl was just 16 when her father forced her to have sex with him every day for a month so that she would become pregnant and provide his partner, who had been left infertile after a hysterectomy, with a child.

A jury at Cambridge Crown Court was told the girl, who is now 19, gave birth to a baby boy in December 2008 and passed him off as the son of her ex-boyfriend - although she had never slept with him.

The matter came to light only in March this year after the girl discovered that her father was abusing her 14-year-old friend in the family home.

"He started pestering me. I said I did not want to have sex with him, but he locked the bedroom door," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying in a shocking police interview.

"I knew it was illegal to have sex with your father. I said it's illegal and I do not want to get pregnant or get into trouble. That's how I got pregnant. He told me not to tell anyone," she said.

The court heard that the teenager's father threatened to kill himself if she told anyone about the abuse.

"He said he would take 1,000 tablets," she told the hearing.

The father denies three counts of rape, one of sexual activity with a child and one of sexual assault of a child, as well as perverting the course of justice.
