Dalai Lama urges younger generation to take responsibility for creating new world
New Delhi, Dec 8 (ANI): Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, has appealed to the younger generation to take responsibility for creating a more peaceful and compassionate world.
"Out of many people, each person has a responsibility to take and also have the potential for it. Particularly the younger generations, people under the age of 30 have a responsibility. In this century only 10 years have passed we are left with 90 more, so in order to make it a more peaceful and compassionate world the younger generation has the responsibility to create the new world," said Dalai Lama, while addressing the entire B-school fraternity at the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM).
"Believe that the world is made of people, different people and not the government. Last year a lot of changes took place, those changes were by the people and not the government. People mean combination of individuals, so ultimately it is the individual contribution that matters," he added.
The Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) recently awarded various personalities with the Silver Phoenix for single handedly removing all impediments silently and emerging as icons of hope for the nation.
Further, speaking on the occasion Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri, Dean, IIPM said: "People should overcome the fear within them and should have the courage to stand for what's true and what's right. There should be a major reformation in the entire system, the youth of the country should overthrow the political system and make a new efficient one, where one does not have to fear for standing up to the truth.
"In a country like ours it takes 10 - 12 years to get justice and by the time one has lost the passion for fighting for it," he added.
