Parliament of India
New Delhi, Dec 7: Parliament came to a standstill for the 18th day on Tuesday. The 2G spectrum scam dogged the house for the 18th day straight with no consensus between the ruling party and the opposition.

The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned as the Opposition created a ruckus demanding a
Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation into the telecom scam. This time around, the UPA allies teamed with the waring opposition asking for a JPC probe. The Trinamool Congress and DMK expressed solidarity to probe the issue.

Trinamool leader Dinesh Trivedi echoed that he would stand by the govt on whichever way they decide to tackle the issue. "TMC is in favour of JPC into 2G scam and we will stand with the government on whatever decision they take," said Trivedi.

"We will sail along with the government whatever it is, so far no meeting has been called," said TR Balu, DMK leader.

The Parliament house saw a furore of activity as BJP protested and wanted nothing less than a JPC probe into the matter. Representatives of various parties who asked for a JPC probe protested outside Parliament and asked President Pratibha Patil to intervene and resolve the logjam.
