Pak cyber attack: CBI website remains offline

New Delhi, Dec 4: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)'s website, which was hacked by Pakistani cyber attackers on Friday, Dec 3 night, has been stayed offline on Saturday also.

Officials said that they are working to fix issue with the site (http://cbi.nic.in/)and to make it online by Saturday afternoon. Hackers have infiltrated the root server of the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which is the root for many government websites.

Hackers have made pages and inserted onto Indian servers and sites. This resulted to effect upto the root level.

Apart from CBI website, Pakistani hackers also attacked NGOs, college websites, Indian companies and firms and religious sites also. Some of the sites appeared damaged, a majority of them were still functional, hosting the page inserted by the hackers.

Hackers left the note saying, This attempt is in response to the Pakistani websites hacked by 'Indian Cyber Army'. We told u before too...we are sleeping but not dead."

The note finished with the words "Pakistan Zindabad".
