Larsen & Toubro Limited sweeps contract in UAE

Mumbai, Dec 3: Larsen & Toubro"s (L&T) Infrastructure Operating Company continued to uphold the leadership quality in construction business. L&T Groups has breaked barriers in international infrastructure segments and laid a firm foundation by sacking an AED 592 million, according to Indian currency approx 716 crores, contract has been signed with UAE from the Department of Transport, Abu Dhabi for the construction of 'Sheikh Khalifa Interchange'.

The site is located at a distance of 75 km from Abu Dhabi on the Sheikh Rashid road leading to Dubai and gains significance as it intersects with the Abu Dhabi Dubai main road linking the two emirates.

L&T groups one of the known quality his to complete the project on time. For the completion of this new project L&T groups has taken a time frame of 24 months.

The project involves construction of 4 bridges with multi-spans and multi-cells (from 2 to 8 in-situ box girders) one 62m long, 20m wide tunnel with single cell voided slab and 12 km of 4 to 6 lane roads with connector / distributor networks including associated electrical, water and drainage networks as well as landscaping and irrigation.

This project will reduce the traffic congestions in the Al Samha region, especially the truck traffic from the new Sheikh Khalifa port. This project is set to meet the international standards.
