Terrorists may get Pak's nuke weapons: WikiLeaks

WikiLeaks
Washington, Dec 1: The diplomatic cables exposed by whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks revealed the worries of United States over Pakistan's nuclear weapons.

In a diplomatic cable, the American diplomat expressed that terrorists may get access to Pakistan's nuclear weapons. During the communication to Washington, official told that a Pakistani government official at nuclear site might bring out the materials to make the nuclear bomb.

"Our major concern is not having an Islamic militant steal an entire weapon but rather the chance someone working in government of Pakistan facilities could gradually smuggle enough material out to eventually make a weapon," US ambassador to Islamabad, Anne Patterson, said during the communication in Feb 2009.

Earlier, the WikiLeaks exposed that Pakistan had refused US officials visit to a Pakistani nuclear reactor.

Later on Monday, Nov 29 Pakistan government said that it refused the operation because its own nuclear security would prevent the material from getting into the wrong hands.
