New CBI chief promises transparency
New Delhi, Dec 1 (ANI): Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer A.P Singh who took over as the Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has assured impartiality and transparency in the working of the organisation during his tenure.
Addressing a press here, Singh said: "CBI works as per law and whoever will be found guilty, would be punished."
"See, we work under law, so, whatever evidences we receive, we will examine the evidences, and if we find anybody guilty, we will take action against the guilty, whosoever the person may be," he added.
Stating that the court monitors almost all the major cases, Singh said he would start previewing the pending cases one by one and noted a plethora of administrative problems lie ahead, which he hopes to overcome.
A.P Singh takes over from Ashwini Kumar.
Prior to his appointment, Singh, 58, was serving as Special Director in the agency.
He has also held the post of Additional Director General in the Border Security Force (BSF). (ANI)
