India's exports rise 15.3 percent in October

New Delhi, Dec 1(ANI): India's exports rose 15.3 percent in October to Rs.79,763 crores compared to the same period last year.India's exports during October 2010 were valued at Rs.79,763 crores, which was 15.3 per cent higher than the level of Rs.69,175 crores during October, 2009," a statement issued by the Union Commerce and Industry Ministry on Wednesday said.

Cumulative value of exports for the period April-October 2010 was Rs.5,56,162 crores as against Rs.4,62,437 crores, registering a growth of 20.3 percent over the same period last year.

India's imports during October, 2010 were valued at Rs.1,22,970 crores, representing a growth of 1.5 percent over the level of imports valued at Rs.1,21,175 crores in October, 2009.

Cumulative value of imports for the period April-October, 2010, was Rs.8,89,827 crores as against Rs.7,43,470 crores, registering a growth of 19.7 per cent over the same period last year.

The trade deficit for April-October, 2010, was estimated at 72,774 million dollars, which was higher than the deficit of 58,311 million dollars during April-October, 2009. (ANI)
