McCain waxes eloquent on Palin while likening her to "divisive" Reagan
Washington, Nov 29 (ANI): Republican senator from Arizona John McCain, who lost to Barack Obama during the presidential polls in 2008, has praised his former running mate Sarah Palin and compared her to Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States.
In an interview, when McCain was asked about his opinion on Palin's book, reality show, and her political self-promotion tour, he said that she is an 'incredible force in the American political arena."
"She's keeping her options open, and I think she should. She's doing a great job. I think she's motivated our base. She had a positive impact on the last election, and I'm proud of her," Politico quoted McCain, as saying.
On being asked if Palin was "divisive," the senator said: "A guy named Ronald Reagan used to be viewed as divisive."
Earlier this month, former US President George W. Bush had said that Sarah Palin was the reason behind Republican Party's 2008 remorseful election campaign, and had reportedly told friends that the Alaska governor was not qualified to be a president while criticizing McCain for picking her as his running mate.
