Shimla hosts campaign to motivate specially-abled children

Shimla, Nov.28 (ANI): A ten-day Disability Awareness Campaign was held here recently to spread awareness about helping specially-abled people to be a part of mainstream society.

The National Trust, a voluntary forum, organized the event from November 19.

Under the banner of the National Trust, various forums are engaged in catering to the needs of the specially-abled, children in particular. They visited different districts of the state to spread awareness about disability and what steps could be taken to help those affected.

Special children joined hands with normal children to promote a message of togetherness.

"The National Trust has decided that along with people of disability, the common masses and people of all walks of life, whether related to judiciary, advocacy or medical science, teaching, will come together and work for people with disability," said Lalita Rana, a National Trust functionary.

Kunal, a specially-abled person, said people with disability are no different from others in society.

"People think that we are different from the society but are like normal children and participate with them," said Kunal
