UP: Cop throws acid on colleague's wife; detained

Lucknow, Nov 27: Following some dispute with colleague, a police sub-inspector threw acid on his colleague's wife in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad district and was arrested on Nov 26.

Sub-inspector R B N Singh Gangwar of Bhojpur police station was reportedly had a financial dispute with with constable Trilok Chandra.

According the eyewitnesses, Gangwar went to Chandra's house to solve the issue but out of rage, Gangwar threw acid on Chandra's wife Laxmi Devi.

The victim has been reportedly admitted to the district hospital with 45 percent burnt.

After the victim's husband filed complaint against the accused, police detained Gangwar on Friday, Nov 26.
