God Man Asaram Bapu's hermitage demolished in Gujarat
Navsari (Gujarat), Nov.27 (ANI): Navsari District administration officials on Saturday demolished the ashram or hermitage of God Man Asaram Bapu.
Naveen Kashkar, the deputy head of the village council of the district's Chikhali tehsil or block, said the spiritual guru had encroached on the land.
"Asaram Bapu had illegally occupied six acres of land. After informing the village council and taking the village into confidence, we are demolishing the structure," said Kashkar.
Asaram, born in 1941, has more than 350 hermitages around the world.
In December 2009, the police filed an attempt to murder case against Bapu but he was exonerated after investigation. (ANI)
