Pakistan has not fulfilled its promise to bring 26/11 masterminds to justice: Chidambaram
Mumbai, Nov 26 (ANI): Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Friday said that Pakistan has not fulfilled its promise to bring 26/11 Mumbai terror attack masterminds to justice.
After paying tribute to those killed in the 26/11 attack, Chidambaram said: "Pakistan made many promises to us that they will bring to justice masterminds of 26/11 but that has not been done so far,"
Hoping that Pakistan would bring the 26/11 perpetrators to justice, Chidambaram said: "While we will trust our neighbour, we must always verify and be vigilant.
Laying emphasis on security apparatus, Chidambaram said: "We have learnt a lesson that while we must trust our neighbour, we must always be on guard."
"We must pay attention to police forces or else we won't have an efficient police force. We must pay attention to proper training, weapons, and housing needs of police force," he added.
The Home Minister also laid a wreath at a 7-feet tall structure made of black granite that has been placed at the place where the terror attacks took place.
A message is inscribed on the structure that "the fight with terrorism will continue."
He also inaugurated a CNG filling station allocated by Mahanagar Gas to the family of 26/11 martyr cop Tukaram Ombale due to whose valiant efforts Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasav was caught alive.
He also met family members of 26/11 martyrs, including Smita Salaskar and Kavita Karkare and heard their grievances. (ANI)
