Nifty closes at 5,751 level; Jaiprakash down

Mumbai, Nov 26: Markets closed on red following the selling off in heavyweights. In the last three weeks, the Sensex shed 1,868.35 points and the Nifty 560.5 points from their all-time closing highs of 21,004.96 and 6,312.45 touched on Mahurat trading day, respectively.

At 05:00 pm, the Sensex closed at 19,136.61 down 181.55 points and the Nifty was at 5,751.95 down 47.80 points.

The top gainers were SAIL up 3.35 percent, TCS up 2.49 percent, Cipla up 1.86 percent and HCL Tech up 1.62 percent.

The top losers were Jaiprakash down 7.60 percent, Reliance Infra down 6.05 percent, Cairn India down 5.97 percent and Sesa Goa down 5.77 percent.

Markets continue to be red; Sensex below 20K
At 2:06 pm, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 19264, down 53 points and the 50-share NSE Nifty was at 5791, down 8 points.

Cipla, SBI, TCS, who among the top gainers, were at 2.44 percent, 2.30 percent, 1.99 percent up respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates, Jindal Steel, Reliance Infrastructure, who among the top losers, were at 8.26 percent, 5.04 percent, 4.11 percent down respectively.

Sensex struggles below 20K; Nifty below 6K

At 12:42 pm, the Sensex was trading at 19166, down 152 points and the Nifty was at 5762, down 37 points.

Jaiprakash Associates, Reliance Infrastructure, Sterlite Industries, who among the top losers, were trading at 11.13 percent, 4.35 percent, 4.1 percent down respectively.

However, on the other side, SAIL, TCS, Cipla, who among the top gainers, were trading at 2.05 percent, 1.98 percent, 1.90 percent up respectively.

Nifty starts amid volatility; hovers around 5800

On Friday, Nov 26 NSE Nifty started amid volatility as it began with above 5800 level but suddenly fell and touched 5750.

At 9:55 am, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 19138, down 179 points and the 50-share NSE Nifty was at 5742, down 57 points.

Jaiprakash Associates, Suzlon Energy and DLF, who among the frontliners, were at 8.8 percent, 7 percent, 4.3 percent down respectively.

However, TCS, Reliance Industries, ONGC, L&T, SAIL, Infosys, NTPC and Bharti were on buyers' radar.
