FB remark on royal wedding: Bishop suspended

London, Nov 24: Following his comment on his Facebook comment on Prince William and Kate Middleton's marriage, the bishop Rt Rev Pete Broadbent has been suspended from duty.

Few days back just after the announcement of the royal marriage, the bishop claimed that William and Kate's marriage life will stay for only seven years.

The Church of England bishop later backtracked and apologised for his comments.

However, the Bishop of London, Bishop John Carew Chartres said that he had asked Bishop Broadbent to "withdraw from public ministry."

"I was appalled by the Bishop of Willesden's comments about the forthcoming royal marriage," the Daily Mail quoted Bishop Chartres as saying.
