Got evidence, Kalmadi likely to be held soon: CBI

New Delhi, Nov 23: After presenting the close aides of former CWG OC chief Suresh Kalmadi in court, CBI asserted that they acquired direct proofs against Kalmadi and they may take the accused CWG chief under their custody soon.

"We have found direct evidence against Kalmadi during the custodial interrogation of TS Darbari and Sanjay Mahendroo, and during the examination of the documents recovered," a CBI official, on the condition of anonymity, stated on Nov 22.

The official also informed, "We are deliberating his arrest on his return from the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China."

CBI earlier arrested three other CWG officials, TS Darbari, Sanjay Mohindroo and M Jeychandran in regarding the alleged corruption of Queen's Baton Relay in London in 2009.

However, at the court, detained Darbari also claimed that Kalmadi was at the helm of affairs and all decisions were endorsed and approved by him.
