New Lanka Cabinet to be announced on Monday
Colombo, Nov.21 (ANI): Sri Lanka will have a new cabinet under the leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa from Monday.
According to the Colombo Page web site, the new ministers and deputy ministers are to take oaths before President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat on Monday at 10:00 a.m.
Government sources said new ministers are expected to be appointed and the existing ministerial portfolios will be reshuffled.
Among the possible new cabinet ministerial appointments are, current Deputy Minister of Finance Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Deputy Minister of Power and Energy Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Deputy Minister of Education T B Ekanayaka, and Deputy Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs Dilan Perera.
The recent crossovers from the main opposition United National Party Lakshman Seneviratne, Rauf Hakeem, and Abdul Cader are also expected to receive ministerial portfolios. (ANI)
