BBC's female newsreaders to imitate Lady Gaga for charity

By Abdul Nisar

London, Nov 20 (ANI): BBC newsreaders would be imitating Lady Gaga on a charity function during their dance performance for Children in Need.

Fiona Bruce, Kate Silverton, Sophie Raworth and Susanna Reid would don an array of outrageous skin-tight PVC costumes for their performance at the Corporation's annual charity fundraiser.

Watched by millions, the journalists, who are normally seen dressed soberly reading the news, will be joined by their male colleagues Ben Brown, Nicholas Owen and Charlie Speight, who will also be wearing special costumes.

Children In Need has a tradition of employing its female newsreaders to dramatic effect as they imitate pop acts.

Last year they performed Single Ladies by Beyonce with previous highlights including covers of hits by Abba and Queen.

Silverton, 40, described tonight's performance as "more fabulous, more gleeful and funnier than any other year".

However she admitted that they were "sacrificing sexy for comedy" and described the routine as "mortifyingly hilarious".

"We've managed to out Gaga Lady Gaga," the Telegraph quoted BBC host Susanna Reid, as telling the Daily Mail. (ANI)
