Rahul Gandhi holds bat for 'silent' PM over 2G

New Delhi, Nov 19: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Friday, Nov 19 for the first time gave statement on the support of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on 2G Spectrum scam. Though the PM kept his silence on the issue.

Supporting the PM, Rahul stated that the PM did not land into any embarrassing condition after the Supreme Court's remark on him.

The court on Nov 18 ordered the government to submit an affidavit by Nov 20 and also asked them to give detail explanation on Manmohan Singh's "inaction" in responding to a plea seeking sanction to prosecute former Telecom Minister A Raja in the spectrum case.

However, being cornered by the Oppositions' several allegations on 2G and former Telecom Minister A Raja issue and demand for his resignation, Singh did not give any public statement yet.
