Online sex-racket unveiled in B'lore; techie held

Bangalore, Nov 19: A software engineer and a Mumbai-based prostitute has been detained in Bangalore on Friday, Nov 19 and a major online sex racket was unveiled.

The engineer Vijay Kumar, the prostitute, Riya were arrested from a hotel room, police stated.

Police officials also informed, "The racket has been going on for nearly two years. Vijay Kumar used to contact a pimp called Kalpana in Mumbai through the Internet to ask her to send girls for him."

"We have been looking to crack down on online prostitution rackets for a few months as they have become rampant in the city," it added.
