Govt has to give affidavit for 2G inaction: SC

To fix the accountability, the court asked the government to come up with affidavit with detail explanation of the reasons of the delay on Janata Party president Subramaniam Swamy's petition seeking sanction to prosecute former Telecom Minister A Raja.
The affidavit on behalf of PM needs to be filed by Saturday, Nov 20, while the hearing on the case will be on Tuesday, Nov 23.
During the hearing on petition by Swamy, the Supreme Court on Nov 16 asked the government, "Can the sanctioning authority (Prime Minister) sit on the complaint."
Opposition parties including BJP leader LK Advani also joined the chorus as he claimed, "The Prime Minister should reply on 2G scam and clarify the stand of the government."
