New Delhi, Nov 16: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report was finally tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Nov 16 and it was expected that the report showed how former Telecom Minister A Raja flouted several guidelines to 2G Spectrum, which caused the government Rs. 1.76 lakh crores.

"85 licenses were issued to companies which suppressed facts, disclosed incomplete information and submitted fictitious documents to DoT and thus used fraudulent means of getting licenses and thereby access to spectrum," stated the CAG report on Nov 16.

The report also showed, "Brushing aside their concerns and advices, the Department of Telecommunications, in 2008, proceeded to issue 122 new licenses for 2G spectrum at 2001 prices, by flouting every canon of financial propriety, rules and procedures."
