Alert: Burqa-clad baby thief appears in Mum again

Mumbai, Nov 16: Once again a woman, wearing burqa allegedly stole a 2-month-old baby from municipality hospital in Mumbai on Monday, Nov 15.

Khatoon Ansari, the mother of the baby brought him to the hospital for check up. She went to buy medicine by giving her baby to her 8-year-old elder son, Mohammed Tahir.

"I was waiting for my mother when an aunty in a burqa asked me to get paan. I refused but she persisted," stated Tahir after the tragic incident.

He also stated that when he returned, he could not find the woman and his brother and he could not describe the baby her features since her face was veiled.

Trying to avoid any responsibility, hospital authority claimed, "The woman handed over her baby to an eight-year-old child. Now what can the hospital authorities do?"

However, this is not first case in which burqa-clad woman stole a baby from Mumbai's municipal hospital.

In Oct 2010, a 62-year-old lady also reported that her two-month-old grandson was brought away by a burqa-clad woman in a similar incident at V N Desai Hospital in Santacruz.
