Saudi Arabia 'dislikes' Facebook, blocks for hours

Riyadh, Nov 14: Middle East Islamic country, Saudi Arabia, blocked world's most popular social networking website, Facebook, for several hours.

Media reported that Saudi officials blocked Facebook for hours and later restored the access to its users. Officials reported that Facebook, which has more than 500 million active users, "crossed a line" against the country's more conservative values.

In Saudi Arabia, there are more than 3 million users for Facebook. Users told media that they were unable to access to the the site for hours.

Earlier in 2010, Pakistan and Bangladesh blocked Facebook siting to a group on the website that was planning an "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day."
