Hyderabad on Cloud 9, powered by Google

Hyderabad, Nov 12: Hyderabad is on cloud 9 as search engine giant Google planned to make the city as world's largest cloud computing research and development centre by hiring 300 Indian engineers by 2012.

"300 engineers are already working in Hyderabad and Bangalore on cloud computing," informed head of engineering, Google India on Nov 11.

Cloud computing is web-based processing, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices such as smart phones on demand over the Internet.

2,000 employees have already been employed by Google in India and the Hyderabad engineering centre will be core to its efforts to focus on cloud computing, company official stated.
