Queen on Facebook, but users can't 'friend' her

London, Nov 10: The Queen is now on Facebook. But before you rush to add her as your friend, you should know - you can't.

Yes, you heard it right, The British Monarchy Facebook page does not allow users to 'friend' the Queen or send her messages. People can instead 'Like' the page and follow all news updates on royal events.

"This is the official Facebook page for the British Monarchy, offering updates on Royal news and events," the profile description reads.

The page went live on Monday, Nov 8 and as of Wednesday, Nov 10, the has over 1,90,000 fans.

"Welcome to the British Monarchy's Facebook page. To see updates in your news feed, just click on 'Like'. Please note that any offensive comments will be deleted," the page states.

While the people are enjoying the freedom to vent out on the Facebook page with comments, moderators from Buckingham Palace have their hands full deleting the inevitable negative posts.

With the new Facebook account to follow the existing Twitter, Flickr and YouTube, Queen Elizabeth has complete online presence. The royal family of Britain takes pride in keeping up to date with new technologies.
