'Restore Kashmir's right of self-determination'

Srinagar, Nov 7: During US President Barack Obama's India visit, Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Nov 6 urged Obama to use his strong influence to restore the right of self-determination of the people of Jammu Kashmir.

Geelani stated, "we hope and expect you (Obama) to use all your influence to restore the right of self-determination to the people of the state."

Explaining the needs of US' intervention in Kashmir issue, Geelani also hoped that the move would help in narrowing the gap between America and the Muslim world.

"Resolution of the (Kashmir) problem with American assistance will go a long way in eradicating the trust deficit between the US and the Muslim world," added the separatists leader.
