Sharp to debut glass-free 3D Android mobiles

Tokyo, Nov 5: Japan based multinational corporation, Sharp has announced the launch of its two Android based glasses-free 3D mobiles in Japan market.

The new smartphones Sharp Galapagos 003SH and Sharp Galapagos 005SH are based on Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. The 3.8-inch touchscreen display of two phones is capable of creating 3D images without the need to wear glasses.

The new 3D smartphones boast the same technology that Sharp developed for the screen in Nintendo's upcoming 3DS console. Users can enjoy the 3D experience without wearing special glasses.

Sharp Galapagos 005SH has a slide-out full QWERTY physical keyboard which helps for fast typing. It has a 8 megapixel camera at the rear. It is powered with 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

Galapagos 003SH has a 9.6 megapixel camera. These two 3D mobiles will be available in Japan market by end of 2010, but the availability and price in international market are not yet announced.
