Orissa: Police kills four Maoists

Bhubaneshwar, Nov 5: Police killed four Maoists in gun-battle in Malkangiri district in southern Orissa on Friday, Nov 5.

Police officials told that Maoists were killed during a gun-battle inside a dense forest. The dead Maoists are yet to be identified. Maoists started firing when the police from District Voluntary Force (DVF) found their camps.

"We have recovered the bodies of the Maoists who were killed during the gun-battle. We have sent those for autopsy. Those killed are yet to be identified. Preliminary investigation indicates the deceased belong to Kalimela area in Malkangiri. All our men are safe," said SDPO (Malkangiri) Avinash Kumar.

Police had recovered four guns, three grenades and kit bags, literature and medicines from the spot.
