Banka, Nov 5: When rest of the country celebrated Diwali with eco-friendly crackers, Maoists celebrated the festival with rifle and ammunitions as over thirty armed Maoists fired several rounds at Banka village in Bihar on Nov 5. Two people were killed and two more were injured.
Police officials stated that the injured villagers, whose conditions were reportedly seriously, suffered gun-shot injuries and were admitted to a nearby government hospital.
The incident was believed to be in retaliation to the killing of a hardcore Naxalite in the district in 2008.
