Adarsh row: Guilty'll be punished, says Army Chief

New Delhi, Nov 5: Following the allegations against the top military officers in the Adarsh housing scam in Mumbai, Army Chief General VK Singh on Nov 4 clearly stated that guilty would be punished irrespective of his post in the Army.

"We are establishing who did what wrong, and action will be taken against those found guilty irrespective of who it is," stated Singh.

Singh also said that he was "extremely saddened" over the corruption allegations, which had "shamed" his force.

Singh's statement came following the allegation charge against the former Army chief General Deepak Kapoor as he allegedly lied about his salary to qualify for an apartment in Mumbai's controversial Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society, which was meant for Kargil widows and martyr's families.
